Achieving equality in access to education

children adolescents

ÇYDD was established in 1989, aiming to modernise Turkish society by ensuring access to progressive and secular education for children of all backgrounds. The NGO achieves this through successful campaigning to increase school enrolment of girls, as well as providing over 120’000 children, mostly girls, with scholarships. Dalyan helps to fund two of ÇYDD’s successful programs:

  • ÇYDD’s Scholarship program “I have a daughter in Anatolia who wants to become a teacher” financially supports families in need who commit to sending their girls to school.
  • ÇYDD’s one-year Mentoring program enables university students to regularly meet with a mentor to discuss their personal development, career and life choices. The year 2022 marks the program's ten-year anniversary.

ÇYDD has launched an impact measurement system for their major programs. The mentoring program is to start impact measurement with the 2023-24 academic year.
